Business Course Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about studying business management with AEC Consultant.

A business management degree opens routes into management training schemes, marketing, human resources, retail and operations management, and project coordination, as well as further study such as an MSc in Global Business or Project Management. Many graduates move into supervisory or junior management roles within one to two years, with experienced professionals progressing into senior management across most industries.

Yes. All of our business and management degree courses, including Foundation Year and Level 6 Top-Up routes, are eligible for Student Finance England. This covers a Tuition Fee Loan paid directly to your university and a Maintenance Loan for living costs, both based on your personal circumstances. Visit our Student Finance guide for full eligibility details and current loan amounts, or speak to an AEC Consultant advisor for a free assessment.

An HND (Higher National Diploma) is a two-year Level 5 vocational qualification, while a full honours degree (BA or BSc) typically takes three years, or four years with a Foundation Year. An HND can be topped up to a full honours degree in one further year through a Level 6 Top-Up, such as our BA (Hons) Business and Management (Level 6 Top-Up). Both routes are open to students without traditional A-Levels and both qualify for Student Finance England.

No. Our Foundation Year degrees, such as the BA (Hons) Global Business and Entrepreneurship with Foundation Year, are designed for students without A-Levels or with lower grades than standard entry requirements. The HND in Business also accepts students through relevant experience or an interview-based assessment. Your AEC Consultant advisor will confirm which route matches your background.

Not always. Many of our partner university business courses are applied for directly rather than through UCAS, which can mean a faster decision. Your AEC Consultant advisor will confirm the correct application route for your chosen course and guide you through the paperwork at every stage, free of charge.

It depends on your starting point. A Foundation Year degree such as the BA (Hons) Global Business and Entrepreneurship with Foundation Year takes four years in total. An HND in Business takes two years, and can then be topped up to a full honours degree in one further year. A standalone postgraduate course, such as MSc Global Business, typically takes one year full-time.

AEC Consultant provides free admissions guidance for a full range of business and management courses, including the HND in Business, BA (Hons) Global Business and Entrepreneurship with Foundation Year, BA (Hons) Global Business (Business Management) with Foundation Year, BA (Hons) Business and Management (Level 6 Top-Up), BSc (Hons) Business and Tourism Management with Foundation Year, BSc (Hons) Project Management with Foundation Year, Certificate in Higher Education Business Studies with Foundation, and postgraduate MSc Global Business and MSc Project Management.

Many of our partner university business courses are delivered over two days a week, with some offering evening or weekend sessions, making them suitable for students balancing work or family commitments. Ask your AEC Consultant advisor about flexible study options when you book your free consultation.

A BA (Bachelor of Arts) in business tends to focus on broader management, entrepreneurship and organisational theory, while a BSc (Bachelor of Science) often includes more analytical or quantitative content, such as our BSc (Hons) Project Management with Foundation Year. Both qualifications carry equal academic standing and are eligible for Student Finance England.
