What documents do I need for my Student Finance application?

Back to Knowledge Base

Full Answer

When applying for Student Finance England you will typically need the following:

  • National Insurance number
  • Proof of identity — UK passport or birth certificate
  • Bank account details for your maintenance loan payments
  • University or college course details — your UCAS ID or direct application reference

If your loan is income-assessed (which gives you a higher maintenance loan based on household earnings), your parents or partner will also need to provide:

  • Their National Insurance numbers
  • Details of their income for the relevant tax year (usually from their P60 or tax return)

International or EU students may need additional evidence of residency or settled status. AEC Consultant can advise on exactly what you need based on your individual circumstances.
