To qualify for Student Finance England, you generally need to meet the following criteria:
- UK nationality or settled status — you must be a British citizen, have indefinite leave to remain, or have settled or pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme
- Normally resident in England — you must have lived in England on the first day of your course (students in Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland apply to their own bodies)
- First higher education course — Student Finance England is typically available for your first full undergraduate qualification; funding for a second degree is limited
- Eligible institution and course — your university or college must be approved by Student Finance England
There are exceptions and special rules for mature students, part-time students, and those who have studied before. AEC Consultant can assess your eligibility for free and help you find the right funding route.
